Understanding the Ford Crisis in the Pages of Spectrum from 1968-1990. 

Desmond Ford's challenge in the early 1980s to the Seventh-day Adventist doctrine of the heavenly sanctuary came as a hard blow to the denomination. To better understand how the church processed this challenge, this paper examines how the sanctuary and a pre-advent judgment were presented in the pages of Spectrum, an independently published Seventh-day Adventist journal, from 1968 to 1990.
